UNLOCK YOUR VACATION FREEDOM
As you plan your next vacation, consider the benefits of booking a car in advance, especially during peak travel seasons. Having a car on vacation opens up a world of possibilities and grants you freedom and flexibility – you can see so many interesting places that can only be reached by car.
Remember that spontaneous trip you couldn’t have taken if you were relying on the train? You can explore hidden gems, take detours and optimize your itinerary without being tied down to public transportation schedules. Having a car isn’t just about purchasing mobility – it’s an investment in unforgettable experiences.
COST-EFFECTIVE TRAVEL
Relying on taxis or public transportation for your daily basis needs can become costly, especially if you’re covering significant distances or frequently traveling within your destination. Renting a car allows you to avoid these high per-ride costs and provides you with unlimited mobility.
Renting a car is a cost-effective option for many travelers. Depending on your itinerary and group size, it is more economical than purchasing multiple public transportation tickets or arranging for expensive private tours.
BENEFITS OF BOOKING IN ADVANCE
By booking a car in advance, you ensure that you’re not only securing the best price, but also reserving the perfect model that aligns with your preferences. It gives you a peace of mind, as you won’t have to quickly look for choices upon arrival.
It’s convenient as you can pick up your rental car quickly and efficiently, but also flexible as you can easily modify or cancel your reservation if your plans change, often without penalties. Plus, you’ll have a comfortable, private space to relax and store your belongings while traveling between destinations.

RENTAL CAR FAQ
Find out answers to frequently asked questions to address your concerns, clarify your rights, and ensure a smooth rental car experience.
Typically, you’ll need a valid physical driver’s license from your country of residence; physical credit card in the name of the main driver to be used for the security deposit and any additional charges that may incur during the rental period; your passport or ID card; a printed or electronic copy of your rental voucher. Depending on the rental company and location, you may need additional documents such as your boarding pass, proof of address, the declaration page of your car insurance policy, or an International Driving Permit.
The minimum age to rent a car varies by country and rental company. In some countries, it is 18; in others, 21; and in others, even older. Though each supplier has their own policy, you’re likely to be charged a young driver fee if you’re under 25. When you search for a car rental, enter the age that the main driver will be when picking up the car, and it’ll show you only the cars you can rent. If there’s a young driver fee, you’ll see it included in the price.
Depending on where you want to rent a car, it may be possible to find some suppliers that accept debit cards. Some suppliers accept debit cards for payment, but still require a credit card for the security deposit. You can use filter to only show those suppliers that accept debit cards. You can find it on the left-hand side of the desktop version and at the top of the mobile version.
Most of the offers usually will include only the Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, and Third-Party Liability. Whether or not they’re included depends on both the car you choose and the legislation of the country where you rent the car. In some offers the Collision Damage Waiver isn’t included and you’ll be held fully responsible for the damages up to the full value of the car (which practically means that you can’t pick up the car if you don’t have acceptable proof of your own car insurance or purchase the insurance at the rental desk).
The mileage policy is always listed in the description of each car. Most suppliers offer unlimited mileage, but some only include a certain number of miles/km per day, week, or rental. If your rental has limited mileage, you’ll usually be charged per mile/km you exceed this limit by, and you’ll pay for this when dropping off the car. Sometimes, even though your rental has unlimited mileage, it may be limited if you travel across state lines or travel to different countries, so always make sure to check the Rental Conditions thoroughly.
Many rental companies offer one-way rentals, allowing you to pick up the car at one location and return it to another. However, there will likely be an additional fee. When choosing different pick-up and drop-off locations , it’ll show you the available suppliers and vehicles, and the prices shown will include any additional fee.
As long as you cancel your booking no later than 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time (local time at the pick-up location), your prepayment will be fully refunded in the form of Booking Credit (or a refund back to your card if you request it). If you cancel less than 48 hours before pick-up (local time at the pick-up location), you’ll only be refunded for Full Coverage if purchased.
If you can’t return your car at the agreed drop-off time, you need to inform the car rental supplier. Most suppliers have a grace period of an hour or two during which you can return the vehicle without incurring any extra charges. If you return the vehicle after that, you’ll likely be charged for an extra day of rental in addition to a late drop-off fee for failing to return the vehicle on time.
Generally, the primary renter is the only person allowed to drive the rental car unless additional drivers are added to the rental agreement. You can usually add one or more additional drivers, depending on the supplier. You’ll often be charged an additional fee for each one. When the additional driver is free of charge, it will be stated in the section of the Rental Conditions. An additional driver must be with the main driver when picking up the car in order to sign the rental agreement. All requirements that apply to the main driver also apply to an additional driver.
